Select an editor.Scenario EditorThe Scenario Editor allows you to define relationships betweenlearner events and patient response by drawing lines in a simplegraphical editor.TrendsTrends are sets of physiological parameters pre-programmed toincrease/decrease over time.HandlersHandlers enable events to trigger simulator responses.Using Handler Editor to Link ActionsTo link a sound to certain events, like a contraction, follow these steps:1. Select the <Edit> menu located at the top of the InstructorApplication screen.2. From the drop-down menu, select <Start Handler Editor>.3. Click the option under the Events menulocated on the lower left side of the window. Click the pink box and the Parameter Limit dialog box appears.4. From the Select Parameter drop down list, select the eventof your choice. For this example we chose Contraction>.5. Select the parameters for this event by clicking < or > and thensetting a limit.6. Click an Action from the Actions menu on the left side of thewindow. For this example we chose . Nowclick in the Actions area below your selected Event.7. Chose a sound from the provided list or select browse to use acustom sound. Press .8. Save the handler and close the Handler Editor.9. To start the Handler click in the Trends andHandlers Control area. Select the handler from the left side ofthe window and press . Close the window.10. Your simulation is now running the newly created handler.Note: This handler can also be added to a scenario in theScenario Editor. Simply click the icon in the Actionsmenu and then click the frame you wish to add it to.Laerdal Advanced Video System (AVS)The Laerdal AVS (optional) can be installed to allow high quality videocapture from up to 4 video cameras during a simulation session andbe viewed in the Laerdal Debrief Viewer.Note: The Laerdal AVS is not included in the SimMompackage but can be purchased from yourlocal Laerdal Sales Company or representative.Software ReinstallationTo reinstall SimMom software:Note: Ensure that touchscreen USB is not connected.1. Uninstall current SimMom software.2. Insert SimMom Advanced Software CD into disk drive.3. Follow on screen instructions.4. Press <Continue Anyway> when you receive a dialog boxinforming you the software has not passed Windows logo testing.This dialog box will appear three times during installation.5. Reboot the system.6. Double click the <SimMom Instruction Application> desktopicon.7. Click <Activate> in the License Manager window.8. Enter License Key.Note: If you do not know your license key, contact a Laerdalcustomer service representative for support.9. Click <Automatic activation through Internet>.10. Close the License Manager window.11. Restart software and create user name and password.Software is now ready for use.
