Deployment 43To physically install MAPs:1 Instruct the cabling installer to run the Cat. 5 Ethernet cable from theclosest wiring closet to intended location of the MAP.2 Unpack the MAP, and select the appropriate mounting kit for yourinstallation location.3 Install the MAP at the indicated location on the floor.4 Connect the Cat 5. Ethernet cable(s) to the MAP.5 At the wiring closet, connect the MAP to the infrastructure equipment:a If you are directly connecting the MAP to a WX switch, plug the othercable end(s) to the indicated port(s).b If you are indirectly connecting the WX to the switch, plug the othercable end(s) to an available network port on the wiring closet switch.If the switch does not supply PoE, then ensure that a mid-span PoEdevice is inserted in-line with the connection.Deployment Deployment is when WX configuration information in the 3WXMnetwork plan is sent to your WX switch.Configuration changes are collected in 3WXM when you save them, butare not applied to WX switches until you send the configuration to theWX switch and deploy the configuration to your network. Any changesyou make to your network in 3WXM are saved, but not applied to yournetwork until they are deployed. This method makes it easy to applyconfigurations simultaneously to multiple WX switches, or you can deploychanges to a single WX switch.
