Installing the Chassis 373 Use the preinstalled flange pins in the Telco rack slotto position the chassis in the rack.Support the back of the chassis until the two bottomscrews are fully inserted.4 While you support the back of the chassis, insert onebottom screw on each side of the chassis and thentighten the screw.Tighten the #10 screws that hold the chassis onto therail to a Torque Specification of 22-25 in/lb (inches perpound).5 Insert one top screw on each side of the chassis andthen tighten the screw.6 Install all remaining screws and tighten them.Installing the Chassis Using Rack-Mount Clip NutsFollow these steps to mount the chassis in a rackwhen you use rack-mount clip nuts. Not all racks require that you use rack-mount clips.Use whatever method of rack-mount equipment thatyou have to meet installation requirements in a rack.Use at least two people to perform this installation.1 Mark and locate the holes on the rack where youwant to place the clip nuts.2 Install the clip nuts on the rack in the positions thatyou selected. See Figure 8.The rack slots are not equally spaced, so align the clipnuts to the slots properly for the screws to be easilyinstalled.Figure 19 Installing a Rack-mount Clip in the Rack3 Two people lift the chassis through the front of therack, until both chassis rack-mount flanges are upagainst the rack.4 Using the preinstalled flange pins for guidance, matchthe slots on the rack-mount flange to each clip nut onthe rack.Support the back of the chassis until the two bottomscrews are fully inserted.5 Secure the chassis to the rack with the screws pro-vided (eight 10-32 inch screws) and with therack-mount clips.a Install one screw on each side in the bottom sloton each rack-mount flange.b Install the remaining screws.c Tighten all screws completely.Tighten the #10 screws that hold the chassis onto therail to a Torque Specification of 22-25 in/lb (inches perpound).10-32 inch screwRack railBe sure to thread the screwthrough this nut to securelyattach each clip to the rack Top view
