J-6 APPENDIX J: W ARRANTYIC (Industry Canada) This digital apparatus does not exceed the Class B limits for radio noiseemissions from digital apparatus set out in the interference-causingequipment standard entitled Digital Apparatus, ICES-003 of IndustryCanada. The Industry Canada label identifies certified equipment. This certificationmeans that the equipment meets certain telecommunications networkprotective, operational, and safety requirements. The department doesnot guarantee the equipment will operate to a user's satisfaction.Before installing this equipment, users should ensure that it is permissibleto be connected to the facilities of the local telecommunicationscompany. The equipment must also be installed using an acceptablemethod of connection. In some cases, the inside wiring associated with asingle-line individual service may be extended by means of a certifiedconnector assembly (telephone extension cord). The customer should beaware that compliance with the above conditions may not preventdegradation of service in some situations.Repairs to certified equipment should be made by an authorizedCanadian maintenance facility designated by the supplier. Any repairs oralterations made by a user to this equipment, or equipment malfunctions,may give the telecommunications company cause to request the user todisconnect the equipment.Users should ensure for their own protection that the electrical groundconnections of the power utility, telephone lines, and internal metallicwater pipe system, if present, are connected together.
