Notify your reseller or technical support that the ISDNLAN Modem has failed the self-test.ALERT LED continuesto flash.Self test failure or ISDN LANModem is in firmware downloadmode.Power cycle the ISDN LAN Modem. If the ALERT LEDcontinues to flash, the ISDN LAN Modem has failed theself test. Contact your network supplier. If the ALERTLED is not flashing, then the ISDN LAN Modem is nowoperating correctly.Upon power up, boththe ALERT and ISDNLEDs flash.A previous firmware downloadwas not completed successfully.Download the firmware. Refer to the Readme filelocated athttp://www.remoteaccess.3com.com/support/docs/lanmodem for firmware download instructions.ALERT, ISDN OK, B1,and B2 LEDsalternately flash.Firmware download process wasaborted.Do not remove power plug. Wait until the LEDs stopflashing (about 1 minute) to allow the ISDN LAN modemto cancel the firmware download. Once the LEDs stopflashing, you may restart firmware download.B1/B2 B channel LED(s) donot remain green oramber.Problem with your computer orapplication software orincompatible local or tolltelephone company.Carefully monitor the B1 and B2 LEDs while attemptinga call. These LEDs flash during call establishment andthen remain green or amber once the connection isestablished.If neither LED flashes, make sure that your computer isturned on and operational.If you are able to place a voice call but not a data call,then there may be an incompatible local or tolltelephone company. Contact your local telephonecompany and have it verify that you can dial a data callto the destination telephone number.ISDN LED ISDN LED does notlight.Poor physical connection to thelocal telephone equipment.Check the cables to ensure that they are securelyconnected to the appropriate ports.If the telephone wires at your site appear to besatisfactory, call your local telephone company forassistance.LAN STATUS LAN port status LED isoff (that is, notilluminated).Ethernet cable is not securelyconnected.Check the Ethernet cable connection and make sure it isinserted properly in a port labeled 1,2,3,or 4 on theback of the ISDN LAN Modem and in the Ethernet porton the back of your computer. Also, your computershould be turned on and your network software shouldbe running.Ethernet card is not set upproperly.Make sure your Ethernet card is set up properly (properdrivers are loaded). Refer to the documentationprovided with your Ethernet card for instructions.
