The recommendations do not cover every possiblehazardous condition.General Instructionsz Turn OFF all the powers and remove all the power cables before opening the chassis.z Keep the chassis clean and dust-free.z Keep the chassis and installation tools away from walk areas.z Do not wear loose clothing, jewelry (including ring and necklace, and so on) or any other things thatcould get caught in the chassis when you install and maintain the switch.Electrical Safetyz Look carefully for possible hazards in your work area, such as ungrounded power extension cables,missing safety grounds, and moist floors.z Locate the emergency power-off switch in the room before installation. Shut the power off at oncein case accident occurs.z Unplug all the power cables and external cables before moving the chassis.z Better not maintain the equipment alone when it has been powered by electricity.z Never assume that power is disconnected from a circuit. Always check.z Do not place the switch on a moist area and avoid liquid flowing into the switch.Handling SafetyThe S7900E series are rather big and heavy, so follow the recommendations below when moving them.z Turn off all the powers and remove all the power cables before opening the chassis.z Do not move the switch alone. Work with another person.z Move the switch slowly and stably. Never move suddenly or twist your body.z Move the switch at stable and consistent paces with your peer. Keep balance of your body.Hold the handles on both sides of the chassis, instead of power handles or the vent of the chassis whenmoving the switch. Since the power handle or the vent is not designed to bear the weight of the entirechassis, the switch may get damaged or even your body may get hurt if you hold these parts to movethe switch.
