Auto ring speed detection isautomatically enabled when you load the driver forWindows NT 4.0.You can choose the following ring speed options:n Enable auto ring speed detection (default setting)n Disable auto ring speed detection and manually set theNIC ring speed to 16 Mbps or 4 MbpsTo access the ring speed detection option in a Windows NTenvironment, follow these steps:1 In the My Computer group, double-click theControl Panel icon.2 In the Control Panel group, double-click theNetwork icon.3 In the Network dialog box, click the Adapters tab.4 In the Adapters tab, select 3Com TokenLink VelocityXL PCI Adapter and click Properties.The 3Com TokenLink Velocity XL PCI Adapter dialog boxappears, as shown in Figure 10.5 To manually set the ring speed, position the mousepointer on the down arrow button in the Ring SpeedDetection field.
