Or you can press theRelease button.Redialing a Call To redial a number on a 3Com Manager’s Telephone:■ Pick up the handset and press Redial to dial the most recent numberthat you called.■ Use the Call Logs on the display panel to redial a recently missed,answered, or dialed call.Making External Calls To dial an external call:1 Pick up the handset. Alternatively, on 3Com Manager’s Telephones, youcan press the Speaker button, or you can press the New Call button. Ifno call is associated with one of the Left buttons, you can also press it fora new line. You hear the dial tone. If necessary, dial the number requiredto access an external line (for example, 9). If one of the Access buttons isconfigured to access an external line directly, you can press that button.2 Dial the number. Or use the display panel on a 3Com Telephone to scrollto Placed Calls, Received Calls, or Missed Calls, or a personal orsystem-wide speed dial number. If you pressed theSpeaker button, press it again to end the call.Making a Call to aRemote OfficeYou can dial calls between sites in your organization that are separatedgeographically but that are linked by a Wide Area Network (WAN)connection. Each site must have a VCX system. Typical configurations aredescribed in the next sections.Using Unique ExtensionsIn some companies with geographically separated offices, everyone in theentire organization has a unique telephone extension. Whenever youmake a call to an extension that is not located at your own site, your VCXsystem sets up a connection to the VCX system at the other extension’ssite.
