76 Guidelines for planning the electrical installationThis table shows the minimum cross-sectional area related to the phase conductor sizeaccording to IEC 61800-5-1 when the phase conductor and the protective conductor aremade of the same metal. If this is not so, the cross-sectional area of the protective earthingconductor shall be determined in a manner which produces a conductance equivalent tothat which results from the application of this table. Typical cable sizesThe table below gives copper and aluminum cable types with concentric copper shield fornominal current. For drawings of the terminals, see chapter Dimensions (page 183).1. The cable sizing is based on max. 9 cables laid on a cable ladder side by side, three ladder type trays oneon top of the other, ambient temperature 30 °C, PVC insulation, surface temperature 70 °C (EN 60204-1and IEC 60364-5-52/2001). For other conditions, size the cables according to local safety regulations,appropriate input voltage and the load current of the drive.2. The cable sizing is based on NEC Table 310-16 for copper wires, 75 °C (167 °F) wire insulation at 40 °C(104 °F) ambient temperature. Not more than three current-carrying conductors in raceway or cable orearth (directly buried). For other conditions, size the cables according to local safety regulations,appropriate input voltage and the load current of the drive.Cross-sectional area of the phase conductorsS (mm 2 )Minimum cross-sectional area of thecorresponding protective conductorS p (mm 2 )S < 16 S16 < S < 35 1635 < S S/2Drive typeACS880-17-FramesizeIEC 1) US 2)Cu cable size Al cable size Cu cable sizemm 2 mm 2 AWG/kcmilUN = 400 V0293A-3 R11 2 × (3×95) 2 × (3×120) 2 × 3/00363A-3 R11 2 × (3×120) 2 × (3×185) 2 × 4/00442A-3 R11 2 × (3×150) 3 × (3×120) 2 × 2500505A-3 R11 3 × (3×95) 3 × (3×150) 2×500 MCM or 3×250 MCM0585A-3 R11 3 × (3×120) 3 × (3×185) 2×600 MCM or 3×300 MCM0650A-3 R11 3 × (3×150) 3 × (3×240) 2×700 MCM or 3×350 MCMUN = 500 V0260A-5 R11 2 × (3×70) 2 × (3×95) 2 × 2/00361A-5 R11 2 × (3×120) 2 × (3×185) 2 × 250 MCM0414A-5 R11 2 × (3×150) 2 × (3×240) 2 × 250 MCM0460A-5 R11 2 × (3×185) 3 × (3×120) 2×400 MCM or 3×4/00503A-5 R11 3 × (3×95) 3 × (3×150) 2×500 MCM or 3×250 MCMUN = 690 V0174A-7 R11 3×120 2 × (3×70) 4/00210A-7 R11 3×185 2 × (3×95) 300 MCM0271A-7 R11 3×240 2 × (3×120) 400 MCM0330A-7 R11 2 × (3×95) 2 × (3×150) 2 × 250 MCM or 3×2/00370A-7 R11 2 × (3×120) 2 × (3×150) 2 × 300 MCM or 3×3/00430A-7 R11 2 × (3×185) 3 × (3×120) 2 × 350 MCM or 3×4/03AXD10000425795
