Drive configuration41Drive configurationOverviewThis chapter gives information on configuring the drive forcommunication through the FPBA-01 PROFIBUS DP Adaptermodule.PROFIBUS connection configurationAfter the FPBA-01 PROFIBUS DP Adapter module has beenmechanically and electrically installed according to the instructionsin previous chapters, the drive must be prepared forcommunication with the module. The detailed procedure of activating the module for PROFIBUSDP communication with the drive is dependent on the drive type.Normally, a parameter must be adjusted to activate thecommunication (see the drive documentation). As communication between the drive and the FPBA-01 isestablished, several configuration parameters are copied to thedrive. These parameters ñ shown below in Tables 1 to 3 ñ must bechecked first and adjusted where necessary. The alternativeselections for these parameters are discussed in more detailbelow the tables.Note: The new settings take effect only when the module ispowered up the next time or when a ëFieldbus Adapter parameterrefreshí command is given (see the drive documentation).Data transfer rates supportedThe FPBA-01 supports the following PROFIBUS communicationspeeds: 9.6 kbit/s, 19.2 kbit/s, 45.45 kbit/s, 93.75 kbit/s, 187.5kbit/s, 500 kbit/s, 1.5 Mbit/s, 3 Mbit/s, 6 Mbit/s, 12 Mbit/s.The FPBA-01 automatically detects the communication speed andtelegram type used.
