51) The ESC system cannot alter thenatural laws of physics, and cannotincrease grip, which depends on thecondition of the road.52) The ESC system cannot preventaccidents, including those due to excessivespeed on corners, driving on low-gripsurfaces or aquaplaning.53) The capability of the ESC system mustnever be tested irresponsibly anddangerously, in such a way as tocompromise personal safety and the safetyof others.54) The HH system is not a parking brake, therefore do not leave the vehicle withoutactivating the handbrake, switching offthe engine, and engaging first gear, withthe vehicle parked in safe conditions.55) There may be situations on smallgradients (less than 8%), with car laden ora trailer attached to it (where provided),in which the HH system may not activate, causing a slight reversing motion andincreasing the risk of collision with anothervehicle or object. The driver is, in anycase, responsible for safe driving.56) For the correct operation of the ASRsystem, it is essential that the tyres areof the same make and type on all wheels,in perfect condition and, above all, ofthe specified type and dimensions.57) If the space-saver wheel (whereprovided) is used, the ASR system keepsoperating. Always remember that thespace-saver wheel, being smaller than theoriginal wheel, provides less grip.58) The ASR cannot overrule the naturallaws of physics, and cannot increasethe grip available according to thecondition of the road.59) The ASR system cannot preventaccidents, including those due to excessivespeed on corners, driving on low-gripsurfaces or aquaplaning.60) The capability of the ASR must neverbe tested irresponsibly and dangerously, insuch a way as to compromise personalsafety and the safety of others.61) Do not take unnecessary risks, even ifyour vehicle is fitted with an ASR system.Your driving style must always be suited tothe road conditions, visibility and traffic. The driver is always responsible for roadsafety.62) The PBA system cannot increase tyregrip on the road over the limits imposed bylaws of physics: always drive carefullyaccording to the conditions of the roadsurface.63) The PBA system cannot preventaccidents, including those due to excessivespeed on bends, travelling on low-gripsurfaces or aquaplaning.64) The PBA system is an aid for the driver, who must always pay full attention whiledriving. The responsibility always rests withthe driver.65) The capability of the PBA system mustnever be tested irresponsibly anddangerously, in such a way as tocompromise the safety of the driver, theother occupants of the vehicle or any otherroad user.iTPMS System(indirect TyrePressureMonitoring System)(where provided)DESCRIPTIONThe vehicle can be equipped with theiTPMS (indirect Tyre PressureMonitoring System) which monitors thetyre inflation status thanks to wheelspeed sensors. To access the iTPMS screens ( fig. 50 -fig. 51), press the TRIP button. The fig. 51 screen will be displayed onlyif one or more tyres are flat.Correct tyre pressureIf the pressure of all the tyrescorresponds to the correct value, thedisplay shows the fig. 50 screen.50 AB0A0123C60 SAFETY
