The API 1040 G transmitter output is usefulfor signal scaling, or translation from current to voltage or vice-versa in applications that do not require isolation.This module includes an unregulated 18 VDC loop excitationsupply that can be used to power an external loop-poweredtransmitter or other passive input device eliminating the needfor an additional DC loop supply.The API 1040 G provides a visual alarm indication and an SPDTalarm relay output when the input exceeds a high alarm trippoint or falls below a low alarm trip point.The alarm output can be factory configured for HI or LO opera-tion, non-latching or latching, normal or reverse acting. Top-accessible potentiometers are used to adjust the alarm setpointand deadband. Heavy-duty relay contacts allow the module todirectly control high capacity loads.Setpoint Retransmission OptionThe setpoint retransmission (SPR) option provides an analog0-1 VDC signal corresponding to the setpoint potentiometeradjustment. This allows remote monitoring of the alarm setting.LoopTracker and Alarm Status LEDsAPI exclusive features include a LoopTracker LED that varies inintensity with changes in the process input signal.A red/green bi-color alarm status LED visually indicate alarmstatus. These LEDs provide a quick visual picture of yourprocess at all times.Output Test/UnlatchAPI’s exclusive functional test button can be used to verify thealarm and system operation. The output test button greatlyaids in saving time during initial startup and/or troubleshooting.The HT latching option provides the additional function ofunlatching the alarm when the reset button is pressed.
