(For more information about ‘remote’ systems, see page 27.)You can run the full application on each system. Alternatively, if your storage space includessystems that aren’t connected to monitors (and therefore won’t require the user interfacedescribed in this User’s Guide), you can run the Agent only. You may want to do this if systemresources are limited, or if you want more system resources available for other tasks. If it’s not, you can choose to restart it.Linux or VMwareOn systems running Linux or VMware, the Adaptec Storage Manager Agent startsautomatically when the system is powered on.To verify that the Agent is running:1 Open a shell window.2 Enter this command: ps -ef | grep StorAgnt.shIf the Agent is running, it’s listed as sh StorAgnt.sh.
