35 Chapter 33.6.2 Jumper JUSBV1: USB Standby VoltageThis jumper controls the voltage to the USB ports. The default setting isfor standard 5V operation. The alternate setting configures the USB portsto also operate with a standby voltage of 5V. This allows the system towake up from an S3 Suspend state. If you anitcipate using this Suspendmode, you should set this jumper to the alternate setting.3.7 Firmware Configuration: The CMOS Setup UtilityThe BIOS CMOS Setup Utility a configuration record of system settings. This record is based on the “Optimized Defaults” that are stored with theutility in Flash memory and can be reloaded at any time. Many of thesesettings are either recommended or required for the motherboard to oper-ate properly. Other settings are customizable and can be changed to suityour specific system configuration and operation requirements. A numberof the variable settings, such as CPU and IDE device settings are set to beautomatically detected in the default configuration. While these settingscan also be established manually, automatic detection is more convenient, safe and reliable. We strongly recommend that you leave all auto-detec-tion settings undisturbed unless you have a specific reason not to and youare certain of what you are doing. Incorrect configuration of the CMOSSetup Utility can result in unreliable operation or a failure of the mother-board to work at all.3.7.1 Using the CMOS Setup UtilityPlease refer to the “Configuring the CMOS Setup Utility” section inChapter 5 for information on using the utility and some settings youmight want to customize. The utility does not run under an OperatingSystem. You must load it during the Power On Self Test (POST) while thecomputer is starting up by press the Delete key or the Del key on the sys-tem keyboard’s numeric keypad.Table 3.3: USB Standby VoltageSetting FunctionShort1-2 USB Voltage 5-Volt[Default]Short2-3 USB Standby Voltage 5-Volt
