AIMB-540 User’s Manual 565.3 Connecting External System PeripheralsTo complete the assembly of functioning system you will need at mini-mum to connect the following external system components to the systemhousing:1. Video Display Monitor2. Keyboard3. Mouse or other Pointing Device5.3.1 Connecting a Display MonitorYou can connect any display monitor supported by the AGP display cardyou installed in the system. This may include either a CRT or LCD moni-tor, depending on the card’s specifications.Connect the display monitor cable to the appropriate display connector onthe AGP card according to the instructions that come with the card andmonitor.5.3.2 Connecting a Keyboard & MouseYou can use either PS/2 or USB input devices with this motherboard.5.3.3 Connecting PS/2 DevicesConnect a PS/2 keyboard and mouse to the Keyboard and Mouse PS/2ports on the rear I/O port panel. Don’t connect or disconnect a devicewhile the system is turned on. Doing so can damage the board.5.3.4 Connecting USB DevicesYou can use a USB keyboard and mouse with this motherboard. Theyplug into two of the USB ports. The Operating System you use must sup-port USB to use any USB devices. You can plug and unplug USB deviceswhen the system is turned on.
