47 Chapter 44.2.12 Installing the Motherboard in a System HousingThis section explains the basic requirements for installing this mother-board in a system housing or “chassis”. Since housing designs varywidely, you will need to consult the housing documentation for specificinformation. This motherboard can be installed in any housing that sup-ports the Micro ATX or ATX form factor. To install the motherboard in asystem housing you will need to do the following:1. Install the rear I/O panel shield that comes with the motherboard2. Attach the board to the housing3. Connect leads from the housing’s front panel4. You can then connect other internal system components asdescribed later in this chapter.4.2.13 Motherboard Installation ProcedureThis section assumes you are installing the board in a suitable housing.We also assume you have prepared the board for installation as previouslydescribed in this manual. If the housing you are using normally standsvertically, place the open housing on it’s side before you start installingthe board. Please follow this procedure to install this motherboard:1. Review any instructions that came with the system housing andprepare the necessary mounting hardware that came with it.2. Identify the mounting holes on the board and confirm that the hous-ing has standoffs that match them.3. Install the rear I/O panel shield that came with the motherboard inthe housing’s I/O panel opening. This should match the ports on theboard.4. Insert the board in the housing and align the mounting holes to thestandoffs on the housing’s motherboard mounting plate. Make sureall of the rear I/O ports are properly aligned with the openings inthe I/O panel shield.5. Attach the board to the housing by inserting mounting screws in allthe holes and tightening them snugly.Required Tool:
