All majorfunctions for print servers are supported.General Information SNMP refers to a set of standards for network management, includinga protocol, a database structure specification, and a set of data objects.The AXIS 540/640 SNMP implementation runs in TCP/IP andNetWare (IPX) networks.The management is handled by NMS (Network Management System)software running on a host on your network. The NMS softwarecommunicates with network devices by the means of messages, whichare references to one or more objects.A message can be a question or an instruction to a device, or an alarmtriggered by a specific event in a device. Objects are contained in databases called MIBs (Management Information Base), where MIB-II is astandard database.The AXIS 540/640 supports all relevant parts of MIB-II and of thehost resources MIB. The AXIS 540/640 also includes a privateenterprise MIB, the AXIS MIB.
