A version of the UNIX operatingsystem from IBM that runs on various IBM computers includingMainframe systems.ARP Address Resolution Protocol. A protocol within the TCP/IP suite ofnetwork protocols that allows a host to find the physical address of anode on the same network. It is available in UNIX, Windows 95,Windows 98 and Windows NT. ARP cannot be used across routers.BOOTP BOOT Protocol. A TCP/IP protocol, used for downloading start-upinformation such as the IP address to hosts on the network. It is onlyavailable in UNIX. BOOTP requires a BOOTP daemon on yoursystem. A request made to an active BOOTP daemon initiates a searchof the Boot Table for an entry matching the print server's Ethernetaddress. If a matching entry is found, the daemon downloads the IPaddress to the print server.BSD Berkeley Software Distribution. The University of California,Berkeley additions to the UNIX operating system.config file This is a file that resides in the print server’s memory and contains allthe parameters that determine the AXIS 540/640 functionality.
