MODEL 300 COMBUSTION ANALYZERInstruction 24-9223 5-75.4 CLEANING THE GAS SAMPLING SYSTEMIf the combustion analyzer is used on either coal or oil fired burners, particulates can accumulate within the probe and sampling hoses. Theseparticulates may, in time, build up and cause a restriction in the gassampling system. While using the combustion analyzer, the type of fuelsthat cause the most dirt and how often the system needs to be cleanedwill become evident.5.4.1 Cleaning the Probe and its Sampling HoseEquipment Needed• Small Allen-Wrench Set • Alcohol• Hammer • Mild Detergent• Center Punch • Pipe Cleaners• Open-End Wrench, 1/2" • Clean Rags• Particulate Trap Key Wrench • Method of forcing water through(supplied with analyzer) probe’s sampling hose (see text)• Gallon Bucket Filled with Clean • Source of Compressed AirWater (optional)Procedure1. Turn off analyzer.WARNING!The probe’s particulate trap may contain hot and mildly acidicwater. Take the necessary precautions to avoid being burned.2. Remove sampling hose from filter/trap, and unplug thermocoupleconnector from control panel.3. See Fig. 5-4 and disassemble the probe in the following manner:a. Using a hammer and center punch, remove roll pin.b. Using Allen wrenches, remove Allen screws that secure probe-tuberetainer to probe handle.c. Remove gas sampling hose from particulate trap.
