Banner AG4 Series Safety Laser Scanner3.4.4 Mobile Side Guarding on AGVs (Vertical Protective Fields)If the Additional Side Distance Z cannot be complied with or if additional safeguarding is otherwise required, additionalAG4 vertical Protective Fields can be used (see Application Guide p/n 147900).The Protective Field must be configured so that the mobile vehicle can come to a complete stop before a collision canoccur. In the case of vertical Protective Fields on mobile vehicles, the Scanner is typically mounted facing down at aslight tilt (such that the lower edge of the Protective Field extends a distance of Z as described above, if possible). Todetermine the dimension to the edge of the side of the Protective Field use the Minimum Distance (D) formula describedabove.The Scanner should be configured with a resolution of at least 150 mm to detect the torso of an individual (i.e. ―Bodyprotection –danger zone guarding‖).
