How-ever, a maximum of 1000 tracks forCDs and 2000 tracks per CF-card/micro-drive are supported. If a foldercontains more than 254 tracks, a secondfolder will be created automaticallywhich can also contain up to 254 tracks.Only folder or track names with 254characters or fewer can be displayed.• Only MP3 tracks stored on a storagemedium in compliance with ISO 9660can be played.• If the artist’s name and track title areto be displayed, an ID3 tag must beadded to the MP3 file. This unit sup-ports versions ID3v1 and ID3v2.• The display of artist’s name and tracktitle is restricted to a total maximumlength of 63 characters.• The MP3 formats MPEG1 and MPEG2Layer3 are supported by the unit.Fixed and variable bit rates of 8 - 320kbps and scan rates of 16-48 kHz aresupported (for files with variable bitrate only with Xing header). We rec-ommend the use of the FraunhoferMP3 Encoder when creating MP3 files.• We recommend a bit rate of at least160 kbps for compressing MP3 files.It should be noted that with MP3 fileshaving a variable bit rate, the displayof the elapsed playing time maydeviate from real time.• In the case of a mixed-mode medium(partly conventional audio tracks andpartly data), only the audio tracks areplayed back.
