LOCAL MANAGEMENTPage 6-8The Community Name Table option lets you set community names.Community names are passwords to Local Management and they areagents of security control to your SEHI. You control SEHI access byestablishing up to four different levels of security authorization:Basic-Read, Read-Only, Read-Write, and Super-User.If you have Super-User access, you can change the existing passwordsby changing the community names. Only the community nameassigned Super-User access has full management privileges.The following sections explain each field on the Community NameTable screen and instructions on how to change them.Community NameDisplays the user-defined name through which a user can access LocalManagement for the SEHI. Any community name assigned here actsas a password to Local Management.AccessIndicates the access status accorded each community name. Possibleconditions are:Basic-Read This allows read only access to LocalManagement, but excludes read privilegesto the Component Trap screen.Read-Only This allows read only access to LocalManagement, but excludes access tosecurity protected fields of the upper levelsof authorization (Read-Write or Super-User).Read-Write This allows you to read and write to LocalManagement fields, Excluding IP Address,Subnet Mask, and Community Names.Super-User This access privilege gives the user readand write access to Local Management.Super-User allows read and write access toall modifiable parameters including:Community Names, IP Addresses, Traps,and SNMP Objects.
