3-14Configuring Your SmartSTACK Ethernet ELS10-273.10 PORT MIRRORINGThe mirror command has two forms. One will allow the user to mirror allinbound and outbound traffic from one port to another. The second willallow all packets with specific destination MAC addresses to be mirroredto a particular port. Up to four destination MAC addresses may bemirrored simultaneously.mirror [port {add | del[ete]} SRC-PORT DEST-PORT][add[ress]{add | del[ete]} MAC-ADDRESS DEST-PORT][on | off]By entering the command alone the present mirror selections will bedisplayed.ELS10-27>mirrorport 5 is being mirrored to port 25.ELS10-27>mirrorThe mirror port is 702:98:10:03:10:0998:45:82:94:54:763.11 DEFINING AND DELETING WORKGROUPSThe SmartSTACK Ethernet ELS10-27 allows you to define logical groupsof associated ports (virtual workgroups) to provide a more efficient flowof traffic across your Ethernet network.Virtual workgroups offer you the ability to limit broadcasts and unicaststo logical domains within the network. Workgroup destinations arerecognized by the SmartSTACK Ethernet ELS10-27 and packets arerouted directly to ports within the workgroup, eliminating the need toperform a general broadcast across each segment of the network to findspecific host addresses.Figure 3-2 shows an SmartSTACK Ethernet ELS10-27 that has beenprogrammed to identify workgroups A and B. Workgroup A uses ports 3through 5,13 and 16 and workgroup B uses ports 7, 11, 16 and 24. Port 16connects a segment that contains both workgroup A and workgroup Bhosts.
