17-10 FRX/FRM 3.3 User Guide, Rev 04Monitoring a LineThe line monitor displays the control data and information data of traffic passingthrough a port.Running the line monitor on a frame relay port will degrade per-formance on the port.Press [E] at the Status Displays Menu and, when prompted, enter:l LP: 0 on FRX4000 or FRM, 0–7 on FRX6000.l Port: 0–63, or 65 to monitor LLC2 sessions.While remotely controlling a node, you cannot monitor the line to whichyou are connected.A message like the following will appear:Display Selection is: mode: Hexadecimal LCN: All for LP: 2 Port: 2Level: 3, Data length: 25Selected Packets are: QData Call Clear Restart Reset Int Diag Unk onlyOptions are F,H,L,M,S,D,Q,C,R,T,A,2,3,E and F3 to exitPress F to startThe Options act as follows:E Allows specification of the length of frame relay data to display.F Stops the display from scrolling, or restarts if stopped.H Toggles the data format between ASCII and hexadecimal.L Monitors a specific LCN or DLCI. If packets are being exchanged, thedisplay will scroll them. To return to monitoring all LCNs/DLCIs, select Land enter 0 when prompted for an LCN/DLCI.M Monitors a different line; when prompted, enter the LP and port numbers.S Updates and redisplays the "Display Selection is:....." message (shown above).A Enables/disables display of all/no packets.C Enables/disables display of Call Request/Clear packets.D Enables/disables display of Data packets on an X.25 port, or non-LMI DLCIinformation on a frame relay port. On a frame relay port, the C/R, FECN,BECN, and DE bits will be displayed separately, then the remainder of eachframe will be displayed as data.Q Enables/disables display of QData packets.R Enables/disables display of Restart/Reset packets on an X.25 port, or LMIDLCI information on a frame relay port. (Only the sequence numbers will bedisplayed for Link Integrity Verification messages on a frame relay port.)T Enables/disables timestamps and lengths of packets.2 Enables display of all LAPB level 2 frames (if appropriate to the port).3 Changes LAPB display (see 2 above) back to level 3.
