3-4 FRX/FRM 3.3 User Guide, Rev 04Configuring Node DefaultsNode Defaults are a set of parameters that identify an FRX/FRM for purposes ofremote control, file transfers, and/or alarm reporting to or from other FRXs or FRMs,and define connections between the FRX/FRM and a NetView manager device.Press [C] at the Node Configuration Menu to display a screen similar to Figure 3-1.This is the first of three Node Defaults screens—pressing [PgDn] or [PgUp] will changethe display among the three screens. The first two screens contain parameters that apply to all users. The third screen con-tains parameters used in sessions between a NetView host and the NetView servicepoint function in the FRX/FRM. If the NetView function will not be used, the thirdscreen does not have to be configured.Figure 3-1 Node Defaults Configuration Screen 1[A],[A],[C] from Main MenuIf there is a error in the configuration for alarm reporting, a message willbe displayed at the top or bottom of the screen. The possible messages aredescribed on page 3-12.Primary Output ID and Secondary Output ID can be addresses, or (FRX6000/FRM only) serial/parallel ports. If a serial port is specified, no associatedpassword (Pwd) entry will be displayed for the ID. Instead, a group of oper-ating parameters (listed in Table 3-2) for the port will be displayed.Although the entries for the various passwords appear blank, default values exist; if you change one, be sure you do notduplicate an existing password.Nod e Name=n ode_xyzN ode Defaults Con figu ration (Screen 1 of 3)Datab ase Sys tem MemoryA Node N ame nod e_xyz nod e_xyzB Remote Control I DC Remote Control PwdD File Tran sfer IDE File Tran sfer PwdF Collectin g FRX/FRM I DG Collectin g FRX/FRM PwdH Primary Alarm Outpu t IDI Primary Alarm Outpu t PwdJ Secon dary Alarm Outp ut I DK Secon dary Alarm Outp ut PwdL On -Lin e Temp orary Chan ges NOption:
