Change Engine OilThis message indicates that the life of the engine oilhas expired and it should be changed and thatyour vehicle is due for service. See your GM dealer.See Engine Oil on page 5-16 and ScheduledMaintenance on page 6-4 for more information.When you reset the Change Engine Oil message byclearing it from the display, you still must reset theengine oil life system separately. For more informationon resetting the engine oil life system, see EngineOil Life System on page 5-22. If you clear this messagefrom the display, it will not re-appear.Change Trans (Transmission) Fluid(Automatic Transmission)This message indicates that the life of the transmissionfluid has expired and it should be changed. SeeScheduled Maintenance on page 6-4 andRecommended Fluids and Lubricants on page 6-13 forthe proper fluid and change intervals.When you reset the Change Trans Fluid message byclearing it from the display, you still must reset thetransmission fluid life monitor separately. For moreinformation on resetting the transmission fluid lifemonitor, see Automatic Transmission Fluid onpage 5-25.Check Brake FluidThis message will display if the ignition is in ON to informthe driver that the brake fluid level is low. Have the brakesystem serviced by your GM dealer as soon as possible.See Brake System Warning Light on page 3-38 andBrakes on page 5-40 for more information.Check Coolant LevelNotice: If your engine catches fire because you keepdriving with no coolant, your vehicle can be badlydamaged. The costly repairs would not be covered byyour warranty. See Overheated Engine ProtectionOperating Mode on page 5-32 for information ondriving to a safe place in an emergency.This message will appear when there is a low level ofengine coolant. Have the cooling system servicedby your GM dealer as soon as possible.
