To exit DSC and enter sportmode, hold the shift lever in theupshift/forward position briefly.If equipped, the tap shift controlsare on the back of the steeringwheel. The tap shift controls can beused in D (Drive), M (Manual Mode)with Sport Mode automatic shiftactive, or M (Manual Mode) withManual Shifting Mode.To use the DSC feature using theTap Shift controls:1. Move the shift lever to the rightfrom D (Drive) toM (Manual Mode).2. Tap the left control to downshift,and the right control to upshift.3. To return to sport mode, hold theright upshift control briefly,or hold the shift lever forwardbriefly, or return the shift lever toD (Drive).With the shift lever in D (Drive), thetap shift controls will activate atemporary tap manual shift mode,allowing the transmission to bemanually shifted. Automatic shiftsreturn after no manual shifts havebeen done for seven to 10 second.The temporary tap mode can alsobe deactivated by holding the rightupshift control briefly.The tachometer display indicateswhich gear the vehicle is in. Thenumber indicates the requestedgear range when moving the shiftlever forward or rearward.CTS-V vehicles use tracer lightsaround the outside of thetachometer as a performanceupshift light. These tracers flash toindicate when to shift to the nexthigher gear to avoid the enginespeed limit. See Tachometer onpage 5‑14 for more information.
