Air is directed to thewindshield. Press the 0 button toturn on or off. Changing the airdelivery mode also turns thedefrost off.AC Mode (Air Conditioning):Press the AC Mode touch screencontrol to turn the automatic airconditioning on or off. If the fan isturned off or the outsidetemperature falls below freezing, theair conditioner will not run.Press AUTO to return to automaticoperation and the air conditionerruns as needed.Automatic Air Recirculation:When the AUTO indicator light ison, the air inside the vehicle mayautomatically recirculate as neededto help quickly cool the inside of thevehicle.If equipped, an air quality sensormay also activate recirculation whenit detects increasing levels of poorquality air outside the vehicle. Theair quality sensor will not maintainrecirculation for an extended periodand may not activate during coldweather. To adjust the sensitivity ofthe air quality sensor, see “Climateand Air Quality” under VehiclePersonalization on page 5-38.The air quality sensor system doesnot protect against carbon monoxide(CO), which cannot be seen orsmelled. See Engine Exhaust onpage 9-21.^ (Recirculation): Press toalternate between recirculating airinside the vehicle or pulling inoutside air. The indicator light on thebutton is lit when recirculation modeis active. This helps to quickly coolthe air inside the vehicle or reducethe outside air and odors that mayenter.Pressing this button cancelsautomatic recirculation. Press AUTOto return to automatic operation;recirculation runs automatically asneeded.Manual recirculation mode is notavailable when in Defrost or Defogmodes.Auto Defog: The climate controlsystem may have a sensor toautomatically detect high humidityinside the vehicle. When highhumidity is detected, the climatecontrol system may adjust tooutside air supply and turn on theair conditioner. If the climate controlsystem does not detect possiblewindow fogging, it returns to normaloperation.
