Air Filter TabsTo inspect or replace the engine aircleaner/filter:1. Open the hood. See Hood onpage 10-4.2. Locate the air filter housing onthe front passenger side of theengine compartment. SeeEngine Compartment Overviewon page 10-5.3. Disconnect the outlet duct byloosening the air duct clamp (1).4. Disconnect the electricalconnector (2). First, remove theconnector lock clip at the bottomof the connector, then press onthe top and bottom of theconnector to remove.5. Lift the retaining clips (3) on theair filter housing.6. Tilt and lift the cover slightlyupward and slide the cover awayfrom outside edge of the vehicle.Remove the air filter.7. To install the air filter, place filterinside box where the pleats fit inbetween the tabs inside thelower box. Ensure that the covercut outs (1) on both sides matchthe air filter tabs (2) on bothsides.8. Replace air cleaner cover byinserting the four tabs into theslots. Lower cover to meetbottom of the box.
