Checking the engine oillevel on steep grades or too soonafter engine shutoff can result inincorrect readings. Accuracyimproves when checking a coldengine prior to starting. Removethe dipstick and check the level.. If unable to wait two hours, theengine must be off for at least15 minutes if the engine is warm,or at least 30 minutes if theengine is not warm.
