Identifying the Size of Paper on theMultifeeder TrayThe size of paper on the tray is identified by thevariable resistor (VR1) that operates in associationwith the slide guide moving in relation to the slideguide moved by the user to suit the width of thepaper. The identified width of the copy paper is used tocontrol the lens and blank exposure. The length of paper placed on the multifeedertray is identified in relation to how long the registrationsensor (PS6) remains ON.All this is used to control how long blank expo-sure should take, how long the registration rollershould remain ON, and how long high voltageshould remain ON.Reference:The maximum length of paper is Ledger (432mm). Pages longer than this will be likely to jam.Figure 3-439Slide guide (Front)Multifeeder traySlide guide (rear)DC controller PCBVariable resistor (VR1) Multifeeder paperwidth detection(MFPWD)Download service manual and resetter printer at http://printer1.blogspot.com
