84 When the Check Wired LAN Connectiondialog box appears, connect the machine tothe network devices such as hubs with a LANcable, then click Yes.(A) Wired LAN connector5 Confirm that the setup program detects themachine automatically.The machine connected with the USB cable isdetected automatically via LAN connection.In Windows Vista, go to step 7.In Windows XP and Windows 2000, go to step 6.I6 When the Network Setup of the Card Slotdialog box appears, specify the drive letter,then click Next.NoteThe connection may vary depending on your networkenvironment.NoteIf the machine was not detected, the Set Printer IPAddress dialog box appears. Make sure of thefollowing, then click Connect.z The network devices such as hubs or routers areturned on, and the machine and the computer areconnected to the network.z The machine is connected to the computer with theUSB cable.z The IP address to be set for the machine isdisplayed on the Set Printer IP Address dialogbox. If it is different from the address you want toset for the machine, enter the desired IP addresson the Set Printer IP Address dialog box.(If the machine is turned off, the Set Printer IPAddress dialog box does not appear.)If it still fails, see “The Set Printer IP Address dialogbox is displayed during setup” on page 29.NoteThe Card Slot of the machine must be mounted tobe used as the memory card drive of the LAN-connected computer.To write files to a memory card, set the Read/writeattribute setting under Device settings to LANenabled.
