45Shooting – The BasicsThe BasicsMacro ModeUse the macro mode when the distancebetween the lens and the subject is in therange of 5 to 45 cm (2.0 in. to 1.5 ft.) at wideangle end and 25 to 45 cm (9.8 in. to 1.5 ft.)at telephoto end.Use to take close-up shots of flowers or smallobjects.1 Press the DISP. button to turn theLCD monitor on.2 Press thebutton.z The icon appears onthe LCD monitor.z Pressing the buttonagain cancels the macromode.3 Shoot the image.z The lower indicator will light yellow when theshutter button is pressed halfway.Mode Dial* Macro mode is not available in and .*z Shooting procedures are the same as for theMode (p. 34).z Always use the LCD monitor to composeimages in macro mode.
