89Shooting – Advanced FunctionsAdvanced FunctionsChanging the ISO SpeedBy raising the ISO speed, you can shootbright images even in poor lightingconditions. This function is convenient whenyou want to prevent camera shake, shootwithout the flash or shoot with a faster shutterspeed in dark conditions.1 Select * (ISOSpeed) in theFUNC. menu.z See Selecting Menusand Settings (p. 66).* The current setting isdisplayed.2 Select the ISO speed using theleft or right button.z A shot can be taken immediately by pressingthe shutter button. The menu will reappearafter the shot, allowing you to adjust thesettings easily.3 Press the FUNC. button.Mode Dialz Higher ISO speeds increase the imagenoise. To take clean images, use as lowan ISO speed as possible.z The AUTO setting selects the optimalspeed. It will automatically raise thespeed when the light from the flash isinsufficient to illuminate the subjectmatter.z You can easily shoot images in darkplaces such as indoor settings by usingthe (Indoor (p. 52)) option of the SCNmode.z See Photo Tips and Information(p. 151).
