This software emulates theimagePRESS C800/C800 control panel and hard keys on a computerscreen, thereby allowing end-users to operate all system functions–including copy, print, fax, scan, and send–from a network connectedcomputer.Service technicians and helpdesk applications can use the RemoteOperator's Software Kit for remote management, troubleshooting, andsupport, including access to the device service mode. Additionally as atraining tool, the Remote Operator's Software Kit can be used todemonstrate device features to end-users.Notes:• Canon USA recommends that when performing operations using theRemote Operator Software Kit with end-users that the procedure toenter service mode not be shown to the end-user. Access to theService Mode by the end-user could allow for changes that maycause the device to alter normal operation resulting in additionalService calls.• The Remote Operator's Software Kit is a standard feature for theimagePRESS C800/C700 with the imagePRESS Printer Kit or theimagePRESS Server attached.H. Device Configuration ManagementThe Device Configuration Manager (DCM) is a standard feature of theimagePRESS C800/C700 series. The DCM can reduce the installation timefor new or replacement imagePRESS C800/C700 devices by exporting theuser mode and service mode settings of a current imagePRESS C800/C700device for import to a new or replacement device.The settings can be exported from the current devices using Remote UI,Device Information Delivery Function or via the service mode to USB memorymedia.The settings can be imported to a new or replacement device using theRemote UI, or from USB memory media via the service mode.Refer to the imagePRESS C800/C700 Service Manual for details.The Device Migration Navigator is an application that can help the servicetechnician select the best migration tool (Remote UI, USB Memory Media) fordevice settings based on the source device, destination device, and settingsto transfer. The Device Migration Manager delivers a printable report that willshow the service technician the tool(s) to use, the migration procedure as wellmigration limitations.
