5• The capacity of the air conditioner must fit the roomsize where it is installed for efficient and satisfac-tory operation.• Close the fireplace damper and any floor or wall reg-isters so cool air does not escape through chimney orductwork.• Operate any heat producing appliances during thecoolest times of the day (night or early morning).NIGHTTIME COOLINGWhen outside temperatures drop below 60 F (16 C)and the unit is cooling, frost may form on the coils andblock airflow into the room. If this occurs, operate theair conditioner on the Hi Fan Only setting to defrostthe coil.If cooling is desired while outside temperature is low,make sure the louvers are open to help prevent frostbuild up.FRESH AIR VENT CONTROLThe Fresh Air Vent allows the air conditioner to recir-culate inside air (OFF position), draw outside air intothe room (FRESH AIR position), or exhaust room airto the outside (VENT position). Any position can beused with any fan selection.NOTE: Fresh Air Vent control is not available on73ACA051T and 73ACA061T models.The OFF position is used for maximum cooling. Pushthe vent control all the way in for the OFF position.See Fig. 5.The FRESH AIR position allows outside air to bedrawn into the room to refresh the inside room air.Pull out the vent control halfway for the FRESH AIRposition. See Fig. 6.The VENT position removes stale inside air from theroom and exhausts it to the outside. Pull the vent con-trol all the way out for the VENT position.
