3.2 Mechanical InstallationPreparation of the mechanical installation of the adjustablefrequency drive must be done carefully to ensure properresults and to avoid additional work during installation.Start by taking a close look at the mechanical drawings atthe end of this instruction manual to become familiar withthe space demands.3.2.1 Tools NeededTo perform the mechanical installation, the following toolsare needed:• Drill with 0.39 or 0.47 in [10 or 12 mm] drill.• Tape measure• Wrench with relevant metric sockets (7–17mm)• Extensions to wrench• Sheet metal punch for conduits or cableconnectors in IP 21/Nema 1 and IP 54/Nema 12drive types.• Lifting bar to lift the unit (rod or tube max. Ø25mm (1 inch), able to lift minimum 400kg(880lbs)).• Crane or other lifting aid to place the adjustablefrequency drive in position• A Torx T50 tool is needed to install the Unit Size51IP 21/Nema 1 and IP 54/Nema 12 drive types.3.2.2 General ConsiderationsSpaceEnsure proper space above and below the adjustablefrequency drive to allow airflow and cable access.
