Step 3. Activate the Auto-tunePerforming an auto tune will ensure optimumperformance. The auto tune measures the values from themotor model equivalent diagram.1. Activate the auto tune 1-29 Automatic MotorAdaptation (AMA).2. Choose between complete or reduced auto-tune.If a sine-wave filter is mounted, run only thereduced auto-tune, or remove the sine-wave filterand run complete Auto-tune.3. Press the [OK] key. The display shows “Press[Hand] to start”.4. Press the [Hand] key. A progress bar indicates ifthe auto tune is in progress.Stop the Auto Tune during operation1. Press the [OFF] key - the adjustable frequencydrive enters into alarm mode and the displayshows that the Auto Tune was terminated by theuser.Successful Auto Tune1. The display shows “Press [OK] to finish AutoTune”.2. Press the [OK] key to exit the Auto Tune state.Unsuccessful Auto Tune1. The adjustable frequency drive enters into alarmmode. A description of the alarm can be found inthe Warnings and Alarms chapter.2. "Report Value" in the [Alarm Log] shows the lastmeasuring sequence carried out by the AutoTune before the adjustable frequency driveentered alarm mode. This number along with thedescription of the alarm will assist you in trouble-shooting. If you contact Danfoss for service, makesure to mention the number and alarmdescription.NOTE!Unsuccessful auto-tune is often caused by incorrectlyentering motor nameplate data or a too big differencebetween the motor power size and the adjustablefrequency drive power size.Step 4. The total current consumption of themotors must not exceed the rated output current IM,N forthe adjustable frequency drive.NOTE!Installation with cables connected in a common joint, as inthe figure below, is only recommended for short cablelengths.NOTE!When motors are connected in parallel, 1-29 AutomaticMotor Adaptation (AMA) cannot be used.NOTE!The electronic thermal overload of the adjustablefrequency drive cannot be used as motor protection forthe individual motor in systems with parallel-connectedmotors. Provide further motor protection with, forexample, thermistors in each motor or individual thermalrelays (circuit breakers are not suitable for protection). How to Install VLT AQUA 12-Pulse High Power Instruction ManualMG.20.Y1.22 - VLT® is a registered Danfoss trademark 4-234 4
