Unshielded cablescan be used between the transformer and the LCL filterinput side.Make sure to connect screened and armoured cablesproperly to ensure high EMC immunity and low emissions. The connection can be made using either cable glandsor clamps.• EMC cable glands: Available cable glands can beused to ensure optimum EMC connection.• EMC cable clamp: Clamps allowing easyconnection are supplied with the frequencyconverter.4.1.7 Motor CableConnect the motor to terminals U/T1/96, V/T2/97, W/T3/98.Ground to terminal 99. All types of 3-phase asynchronousstandard motors can be used with a frequency converter. The factory setting is clockwise rotation with the frequencyconverter output connected as follows:Terminal number Function96, 97, 9899Mains U/T1, V/T2, W/T3GroundTable 4.4 Mains Terminals• Terminal U/T1/96 connectedto U-phase• Terminal V/T2/97 connectedto V-phase• Terminal W/T3/98connected to W-phase175HA036.11U1 V1 W196 97 98FCMotorU2 V2 W2U1 V1 W196 97 98FCMotorU2 V2 W2Table 4.5 Wiring for Motor DirectionsThe direction of rotation can be changed by switching 2 phases inthe motor cable or by changing the setting of 4-10 Motor SpeedDirection. To perform motor rotation check, follow the steps inparameter 1-28 Motor Rotation Check.F enclosure requirementsF1/F3 requirementsAttach an equal number of wires to both inverter moduleterminals. To obtain an equal number, motor phase cablequantities must be multiples of 2, resulting in 2, 4, 6, or 8(1 cable is not allowed). The cables are required to be ofequal length within 10% between the inverter moduleterminals and the first common point of a phase. Therecommended common point is the motor terminals.F2/F4 requirements: Attach an equal number of wires toboth inverter module terminals. To obtain an equalnumber, motor phase cable quantities must be multiplesof 3, resulting in 3, 6, 9, or 12 (1 or 2 cables are notallowed). The wires are required to be of equal lengthwithin 10% between the inverter module terminals and thefirst common point of a phase. The recommendedcommon point is the motor terminals.Output junction box requirementsThe length, minimum 2.5 m, and quantity of cables mustbe equal from each inverter module to the commonterminal in the junction box.NOTICEIf a retrofit application requires an unequal number ofwires per phase, consult the factory for requirementsand documentation, or use the top/bottom entry sideenclosure option.Electrical Installation Operating Instructions44 Danfoss A/S © 08/2014 All rights reserved.
