Values are ingigabytes to one decimal place.filesys show spaceThe display is similar to the following:# filesys show spaceResource Size GB Used GB Avail GB Use%------------------- ------- ------- -------- ----/ddvar 29.5 0.2 29.3 1%Pre-compression - 56.9 - -Data 3982.0 44.5 3937.5 1%If 100% cleaned* 3982.0 41.8 3940.2 1%Meta-data 19.7 0.0 19.7 0%Index 60.0 0.6 59.4 1%------------------- ------- ------- -------- ----Estimated compression factor*: 1.3x = 56.9/(41.8+0.0+0.6)* Estimate based on 2004/11/22 cleaningDisplay CompressionTo display the amount of compression for a single file, multiple files, or a file system, use thefilesys show compression command. Optionally, display compression for a givennumber of hours or days. In general, the more often a backup is done for a particular file or filesystem, the higher the compression. Note that the display on a busy system may not return for oneto two hours. Other factors may also influence the display. Call Data Domain Technical Support toanalyze displays that seem incorrect.filesys show compression [path] [last {n hours | n days}]In the display, the figure for bytes/storage_used is the compression ratio after all compression ofdata (global and then local) plus the overhead space needed for meta data. In the Original bytesline, (which includes system overhead) do not expect the amount shown to be the same as theamount displayed with the filesys show space command, Pre-compression line, which doesnot include system overhead. The display is similar to the following:# filesys show compression /backup/usrTotal files: 6,018; bytes/storage_used: 10.7Original Bytes: 6,599,567,913,746Globally Compressed: 992,690,774,605Locally Compressed: 608,225,239,283Meta-data: 7,329,091,080
