Click eachbox in succession to enter the beginning and endingaddresses, and then click the OK button to completethe selection. Figure 3-9 shows the two fields.Figure 3-9. When you have finished selecting resources forthe unlisted card, click the OK button in the Con-figure Unlisted Card dialog box.A message box appears, notifying you either that thecard is using its default settings or that it cannot useits default settings and must be reconfigured.9. Click the OK button. If the card must bereconfigured, record the resource settingsrecommended by the ICU. Click the Close buttonto accept the resource settings currentlydisplayed.10. If you had to assign a disallowed resource value tothe card in steps 7, 8, and 9, click each of theother cards, and then click the View button untilyou find another card using a resource value thatis allowed for the unlisted card. Reassign theresource setting for this other card using the pro-cedure in the next section, “Modifying a Card.”Then modify the resource settings for the unlistedcard so that it uses an allowable value.NOTE: After modifying the system configuration, youmust turn the system off to install, remove, or changejumper settings on the ISA expansion cards to match thesettings you selected in the ICU.Modifying a CardModifying a card allows you to change the systemresources used by a card. This feature is helpful whenyou want to add a card that requires resources already inuse by other cards or devices in your computer.
