Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol Commands 1237Interface TrackingFor interface tracking, VRRP is a routing event client. When a routinginterface goes up or down (or routing is disabled globally, implying all routinginterfaces are down), VRRP checks if the interface is tracked. If so, it adjuststhe priority. Interface tracking is useful for tracking interfaces that are notconfigured for VRRP. Only IP interfaces are tracked.Route TrackingThe network operator may perform this task to track the reachability of an IProute. A tracked route is considered up when a routing table entry exists forthe route and the route is accessible. For route tracking, make VRRP a bestroute client of RTO. When a tracked route is added or deleted, change thepriority. For simplicity, routes are not distinguished with the next hopinterface that has VRRP enabled. So VRRP Route Tracking can ignore routemodifications.Commands in this ChapterThis chapter explains the following commands:Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol CommandsPingable VRRP Commandsip vrrp vrrp timers advertisevrrp accept-mode vrrp timers learnvrrp authentication vrrp track interfacevrrp description vrrp track ip routevrrp ip show vrrpvrrp mode show vrrp interfacevrrp preempt show vrrp interface briefvrrp priority show vrrp interface statsip vrrp accept-mode show ip vrrp interface
