Unpack the expansion card and prepare it for installation.For instructions, see the documentation accompanying the card.2. Turn off the system, including any attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from theelectrical outlet and peripherals.3. Lay the system on its side, on a flat and stable surface.4. Open the system.5. Press and push out the expansion card release latch to open it.Remove the filler bracket, if you are installing a new expansion card.NOTE: Keep the filler bracket in case you need to remove the expansion card. Filler bracketsmust be installed over empty expansion-card slots to maintain FCC certification of the system.The brackets also keep dust and dirt out of the system and aid in proper cooling and airflowinside the system.6. Holding the card by its edges, position the card so that the card-edge connector aligns with theexpansion card connector.7. Insert the card-edge connector into the expansion card connector until the card is fully seated.8. Push the expansion card latch toward the system until it clicks into place.9. Close the system.52
