The lights can be yellow or green. When the computer startsnormally, the lights flash. After the computer starts, all four lights display solid green. If the computer malfunctions, the colorand sequence of the lights identify the problem.Diagnostic Light Codes During POSTLight Pattern Problem Description Suggested ResolutionA possible BIOS failurehas occurred; thecomputer is in therecovery mode.Run the BIOS Recovery utility, wait for recovery completion, and then restartthe computer.A possible processorfailure has occurred.Reinstall the processor and restart the computer.Memory modules aredetected, but amemory failure hasoccurred.1. Reseat the memory modules to ensure that your computer is successfullycommunicating with the memory.2. Restart the computer.3. Run the Dell Diagnostics.4. If the problem persists, contact Dell.A possible expansioncard failure hasoccurred.1. Determine if a conflict exists by removing a card (not the graphics card)and then restarting the computer.2. If the problem persists, reinstall the card that you removed, remove adifferent card, and then restart the computer.3. Repeat this process for each card. If the computer starts normally,troubleshoot the last card removed from the computer for resourceconflicts (see "Resolving Software and Hardware Incompatibilities").4. If the problem persists, contact Dell.A possible graphicscard failure hasoccurred.1. If the computer has a graphics card, remove the card, reinstall it, andthen restart the computer.2. If the problem still exists, install a graphics card that you know worksand restart the computer.3. If the problem persists or the computer has integrated graphics, contactDell.
