The radiantheat from the fireplace will turn off the fire-place. Ideally, place the hand-held remote in thecenter of the room facing towards the fireplace.Note: Do not hold the hand-held remote for along time. Body temperature will affect its op-eration in the AUTO mode.Safety FeaturesWhen away from home for an extended period oftime or as a child safety feature to prevent acci-dental ignition of the fireplace, receiver ON/OFF/REMOTE switch should be in the OFF position.Auto Shutoff Feature1. If the average room temperature exceeds 82degrees Fahrenheit (28 degrees Centigrade),the hand-held remote control will perform asafety override and shut the fireplace off. Thisfeature is not available in the MANU mode.2. The receiver continuously receives signalsfrom the hand-held remote to control theroom temperature. If the hand-held remoteis misplaced, obstructed, or for any reasoncannot transmit to the receiver, the receiverwill shut off the fireplace after 8 minutes.
