www.desatech.com 108660-01E14Before connecting the black iron gas line tothe inside of the appliance a sediment trapmust be included outside the appliance be-tween the gas line and the gas shutoff valve.It must extend down 3" beyond the center ofthe pipe. Prepare incoming black iron gasline with Teflon tape or pipe joint compound(Check with local building codes).CAUTION: Compounds usedon threaded joints of gas pipingshall be resistant to the actionof Liquefied Petroleum (LP orpropane), and should be appliedlightly to ensure excess sealantdoes not enter the gas line.WARNING: All gas pipingand connections must be testedfor leaks after the installation iscompleted.After ensuring that the gas valveis on, apply a noncorrosive leakdetection solution to all con-nections and joints.
