Hold the control buttonagain until burner turns off (see Figure 47).TO LOCK press both buttons on hand-heldremote control until light stops flashing. Hand-held remote control is now locked. If the fireis on it will be turned off automatically. In thelocked state, the light will not light up whenany button is pressed.TO UNLOCK press both buttons together onhand-held remote control until the light stops flash-ing. To selectFahrenheit/Centigrade mode display, carefullypress the ˚C/˚F mode button with the end of apaper clip or similar blunt object.Manual Mode1. Press the POWER and LOCK buttonstogether to turn on the hand-held remotecontrol.2. Press the MANU button to turn on thefireplace.3. Press the POWER and LOCK buttonstogether to turn off the fireplace.Auto (Thermostatic) Mode1. Press the POWER and LOCK buttonstogether to turn on the hand-held remotecontrol.2. Press AUTO button to select this mode.3. Set the desired room temperature bypressing the TEMP + or - buttons.4. Press the POWER and LOCK buttonstogether to turn off the fireplaceNote: Do not leave the hand-held remote in theAUTO mode close to the fireplace. The radiantheat from the fireplace will turn off the fireplace.Ideally, place the hand-held remote in the centerof the room facing towards the fireplace.Note: Do not hold the hand-held remote fora long time. If the average room temperature reachesa range of 82° F (28° C) to 92° F (33° C),the hand-held remote control will performa safety override and shut the fireplaceoff. This feature is not available in theMANU mode.2. The receiver continuously receives signalsfrom the hand-held remote to control theroom temperature. If the hand-held remoteis misplaced, obstructed or for any reasoncannot transmit to the receiver, the receiverwill shut off the fireplace. This will occur in 8or more minutes depending upon location ofremote transmitter and strength of batteries.Key Pad Lock FeatureThis feature allows the user to lock/unlock thekeypad on the hand-held remote in the MANUor AUTO mode to prevent inadvertent op-eration (i.e. children operating the hand-heldremote control, etc.). The keypad is locked ineither on or off. Press the POWER and LOCKbuttons together to turn the unit on or off.
