10 Making connectionsDX-32L/37L/40L/46L3 Connect the other end of the component video cable to theCOMPONENT1 or COMPONENT2 jacks on the back of your TV.4 Connect an audio cable (not included) to the AUDIO OUT jacks(L/R) on the component device.5 Connect the other end of the audio cable to the COMPONENT1or COMPONENT2 AUDIO-R and AUDIO-L jacks on the back ofyour TV.To play from the component video device:1 Turn on the TV, then press INPUT. The INPUT SOURCE menuopens.2 Press or to select Component1 or Component2, thenpress ENTER.Note: You can also press COMP once to select Component1 or twice toselect Component2.3 Turn on the component video device and start playback. Refer tothe instructions that came with the component video device.Connecting an antenna, cable TV, orsatellite TV boxTo connect an antenna, cable TV, or satellite TV box:• Connect one end of a 75-Ohm, coaxial cable to the ANT/CABLEIN jack on the back of the TV, then connect the other end of thecable to the antenna or cable TV wall jack.• If you are connecting a satellite TV or cable box, you can use oneof the following (if available):• Acceptable - 75-ohm coaxial cable.• Good - Video composite cable• Better - S-Video cable• Better - Video component cables• Best - HDMI cableNotes:• We recommend using a 75-Ohm, coaxial cable to reduce interferenceand noise that may be caused by radio wave transmissions.• Do not bundle the coaxial cable with the power cord or any othercables.• If you are using an antenna and reception is not good, contact aservice technician to adjust the antenna.Connecting a VCRNote: If the VCR has an S-Video jack (good), component jacks (better), oran HDMI jack (best), connect the VCR using the best availableconnection.To connect a VCR:1 Make sure that your TV’s power cord is unplugged and the VCR isturned off.2 Connect one end of a standard AV cable (not included) into theAV1 IN VIDEO jack on the back of the TV, then connect the otherend of the cable to the AV OUT VIDEO jack on the VCR.-OR-For a better picture, you can connect an S-Video cable to theS-VIDEO OUT jack on the VCR and the S-VIDEO1 jack on your TV.Note: Cable connectors and jacks are often color-coded. Match the colorswhen you connect the AV cable.3 Connect the audio connectors of the AV cable (the red and whiteconnectors) to the AV OUT AUDIO jacks of the VCR, then connectthem to the AV1 IN AUDIO-L and AUDIO-R jacks on the back ofyour TV.To play the VCR:1 Turn on the TV, then press INPUT.
