8 Setting up the televisionConnecting to other equipmentThe exact arrangement you use to interconnect various video and audiocomponents to the television is dependent on the model and features ofeach component. Check the owner's manual provided with eachcomponent for the location of video and audio inputs and outputs.The following connection diagrams are offered as suggestions. You mayneed to modify them to accommodate your particular assortment ofcomponents. The diagrams are intended to show component video andaudio interconnections only.Selecting the video input source:• Press INPUT to view a signal from another device connectedto your television, such as a VCR or DVD player. AUX displayson the screen for four seconds after pressing INPUT.Connecting the television to a VCRConnecting the television to a camcorderTo play back from a camcorder, connect the camcorder to the televisionas shown.Connecting the television to a video gameconsoleThe television can also be used as a display device for many video games.However, due to the wide variety of signals generated by these devicesand subsequent connection variations required, they have not all beenincluded in the suggested connection diagrams. You will need to consulteach component's owner's manual for additional information.Using the menuTo access the menu using the TV buttons:Press both of the VOL and VOL buttons at the same time. Themenu screen appears.To access the menu using the remote control:Press MENU/ENTER. The menu screen appears.To select a setting using the TV buttons:Use the CH and CH buttons and the VOL and VOLbuttons.To select a setting using the remote control:Use the CH + and CH - buttons and the VOL + and VOL - buttons.Setting the languageYou can choose from three different languages (English, French, andSpanish) for the on-screen displays.You must select a language first, before setting other menu options.To select a menu language:1 Press MENU/ENTER. The on-screen language selection screenappears.NOTE:If no buttons are pressed for more than 60 seconds, the menu screen returnsto normal television operation automatically.2 Press the CH + and CH - buttons to select LANGUAGE, then pressthe VOL + button.3 Press the CH + and CH - buttons to select the desired language:• English (ENGLISH),• French (FRANÇAIS), or• Spanish (ESPAÑOL).4 Press EXIT to return to the normal screen.Memorizing channelsThis television is equipped with a channel memory feature which allowschannels to skip up or down to the next channel set into memory,skipping over unwanted channels. Before selecting channels, they mustbe programmed into the television’s memory.To use this television with an antenna, set the TV CABLE menu option tothe TV mode. When shipped from the factory, this menu option is in theCABLE mode.Selecting TV or cableTo select TV or cable input:1 Press MENU/ENTER.
