Program processing andsystem time10/10 MN05003004Z-EN42Limit values for memory usageThe data memory of the XC100 is divided into memory segments. The segment sizes are shown in figure 54. The global data utilisesmultiple segments. The required amount can be specified to suitthe size of the loaded program. The segment size for the different control types can be found under‹Target Settings l Memory Layout›:The hexadecimal values of the other PLC types must be convertedto decimal values. In order to ensure that you use the available memory for the globaldata in an optimum and efficient manner, we recommend that youmake the following settings when a new project is being created:The number of segments is set to 1 by default. The number of segments is changed as follows:X Select ‹Project l Options l Compile options›; select the datasegments field and enter the number of segments listed abovefor the respective control type.Figure 54: Segment size of the XC-CPU101-C256kPLC type Number of data segments(global)XC-CPU101-C64K-8DI-6DO 16XC-CPU101-C128K-8DI-6DO 12XC-CPU101-C256K-8DI-6DO 14Figure 55: Memory management: Change the number of datasegments
